A Forward-Deployed Engineer sits close to the client's operation and ships a working vertical slice into it. Not a prototype built in isolation — something a real user can run on Monday morning.
The work is full-stack in the literal sense: ingesting and validating messy real-world data, writing the deterministic engine that computes the answer, putting a cockpit on top that an operations user can read without opening the code, and keeping a human in control of every decision.
What you'll actually do
- Ingest and validate messy operational data — duplicates, conflicts, unit mismatches — and report what is wrong instead of quietly guessing.
- Write the deterministic engine: constraints, quantities, KPIs and allocation, computed in code and reproducible.
- Build the cockpit an operations user can read without opening the logs.
- Keep the human in control: overrides, replanning, and explicit version-specific approvals.
- Ship it properly: one documented clean-start command, tests on the boundaries that matter, a handoff someone else can pick up.
